4 Ways to Feel More Energized During the Holidays

The holidays are a wonderful time to spend with friends and family, but it’s also a time where a lot of people find themselves feeling more sluggish and tired. All of the events, heavy foods, drinks, etc. can throw your body off schedule and sometimes make it hard to get back to your normal self!

I wanted to share some tips that help me stay energized during the holiday season.

1) Water with lemon- Hydrating throughout the day should be your #1 priority everyday, but especially during the holidays. Adding lemon to your water will help flush out toxins and sugars in your body as well. Drinking water will also help relieve fatigue and regulate your digestive system. I could go on and on with the benefits! If you have trouble remembering to drink water get a cute water bottle or set reminders on your phone.

2) Multivitamins- It’s easy to get off track and forget your routine, but stay on your supplements! Most multivitamins are packed with immune boosting vitamins a, b + c and also zinc, which will help fight off a cold. If you don’t take a multivitamin already research and see what is best for you! I take the Honest Company Women’s Multivitamin- it doesn’t have a ton of fillers like other vitamins out there.

3) Light exercise- It’s hard to find time to exercise, but especially during the holidays- I get it! But finding time for light exercise will make you feel more energized. Find time to go on a 20-minute walk, wake up and do a 10-minute video on YouTube or find a 15-minute yoga video and do it before bed! Even 10 to 20 minutes will make a difference in your body and make you feel the energy.

4) Snacking- This one sounds weird, right? But making sure that you are fueling your body about every 3 hours is key. It’s easy to get distracted shopping for hours or setting up for a holiday party and then realizing that you haven’t eaten in 5 hours and your hangry. Those are the times when you’re more likely to grab whatever is convenient (hello cookies) and over-eating is likely.
